I speak with Medicaid care coordinators across the country every day asking me where they can find Tranquility products for their clients. They tell me that they love Tranquility’s high-quality, superabsorbent performance, which gives them peace of mind knowing the families they serve will have fewer headaches from irritating leaks, embarrassing odor and harmful skin issues for their loved ones.
In this article I will expand on that idea, discussing six reasons why DMEs and other product suppliers should offer Tranquility incontinence products to their Medicaid customers.
(By the way – if you’re on the fence about participating in Medicaid, state reimbursement or waiver programs, or if you are unsure about adding incontinence products to your current Medicaid portfolio mix, check out my previous blog, “3 Reasons to Sell Incontinence Products through Medicaid“)
Why Tranquility for Medicaid?
#1: The Perfect Product Mix
Tranquility gives you the flexibility to offer the ideal Medicaid product mix, with several protection levels and at different price points.
Our original Tranquility Premium products offer the highest performance and maximum absorbent capacity. They are ideal for private pay, waiver programs and some state Medicaid programs.
Tranquility Essential® products are available in two absorbency levels:
Heavy – High-performance option for most state Medicaid programs.
Moderate – Most cost-effective, high-performance option for Medicaid Managed Care plans with lower fee schedules.
Having these options allows your business to meet your clients’ challenging incontinence care needs, while also protecting your own bottom line.
2: Features to Meet Specific Needs
In addition to multiple tiers of protection, Tranquility also offers a variety of product styles and sizes, with unique features to help fulfill the requirements of your individual clients.
EXAMPLE:
If your client requests a tape-tab brief in a size extra-large …
… Tranquility offers five high-quality options to meet their request:
Each of these five product styles offers distinct advantages, such as the extended-wear and security of SmartCore® and ATN™ Briefs. Or, if your client does not need premium absorbent capacity, you can offer them the reliable comfort and protection of SlimLine® or Essential product options.
#3: Youth Sizes and Specialty Products
The majority of Medicaid incontinence product customers I work with are families of children who experience a complex healthcare issue, such as cerebral palsy, Autism and other physical/cognitive medical conditions.
It’s heartbreaking to have a conversation with a mom who is learning for the first time that her young son or daughter may have delays in potty training – or may even need to wear diapers for the rest of their lives. To help parents get through this difficult time, Tranquility has developed a full range of Youth-Sized Products. This product line bridges the gap from baby and toddler diapers to adult-sized products for people in unique situations, like this Tranquility customer:
“When we grew out of size 7 diapers, we could not find anything that fit our son. He is tall and skinny. The Tranquility SlimLine Briefs size X-Small with four tabs to fasten work really well. I really like this brand for my son.”
In addition to youth sizes, Tranquility offers a full portfolio of bariatric products for your plus-sized Medicaid customers and Swimmates® disposable swimwear to help clients young and older get back into the water.
#4: Boosters for any Brands
Did you know Tranquility has nine different Booster pad options?
Referred to by some as a “diaper doubler,” booster pads are worn inside of a disposable brief or pull-on. They have a flow-through design to absorb a certain amount of urine before letting additional fluid pass through to be absorbed by the garment beneath it, “boosting” the total capacity.
Booster pads are a great option even if your client does not use Tranquility briefs or pull-ons. Tranquility boosters are available in a variety of shapes and sizes, from youth to bariatric. Boosters are covered under Medicaid or waivers in many states, and once your client samples a booster pad, they will often want to add one pack to their monthly order going forward.
Our Tranquility team can work with your staff to offer a booster pad sample program to Medicaid clients.
#5: Complimentary Product Review
With so many products available, it may be hard to choose an incontinence product portfolio. Tranquility’s Medicaid experts can make the process easier by working with you to create a Tranquility product formulary based on Medicaid reimbursement, waivers and managed care programs in the states you serve.
We can even review product options by HCPCS code to determine what works best for your business. For example, if you need Adult Medium Briefs under HCPCS T4522, we can recommend five Tranquility brand options fitting that parameter.
#6: Preferred Medicaid Dealer Benefits
Finally, one last reason why Tranquility is the right brand for your business is our Preferred Medicaid Dealer program. Apply to join and start receiving these exclusive benefits:
