About Overnight Diapers

Overnight Diapers are incontinence products designed for extended wear and maximum protection. The primary goal of this product is to enable the wearer to get a complete rest without interruption or worry about leaks.

This category of adult diapers can be found in both tabbed brief and pull-on style products. Overnight Diapers also can be found in a variety of materials. Clothlike products are soft and breathable while remaining highly absorbent, and the more traditional poly-back (plastic) briefs are designed to give the wearer a sense of full security throughout the night. This variety of choices gives any individual the opportunity to select the best overnight diaper that makes them feel the most protected.

What are Overnight Adult Diapers Good for?

With lesser absorbent products, those who experience incontinence may not be able to sleep through the night without having to change out their product. They may also wake up in the morning and realize while they slept, leakage occurred, and additional laundry will need to be done. This can lead to exhaustion, frustration and a lot of time spent doing laundry instead of other daytime activities.

An overnight adult diaper is specifically designed to alleviate these issues. Everyone deserves a good night’s sleep and to be able to enjoy their day without worrying about having to do another load of laundry. Tranquility designs their overnight diapers not only to absorb multiple voids worth of fluid, but also to keep that fluid locked in and contained when under pressure.

Beyond being some of the most absorbent adult diapers, these products are also designed with the Tranquility superabsorbent core that neutralizes the pH of urine so that these night diapers can be worn for extended periods of time without worry of harmful bacteria buildup, unwanted odors or skin irritation.

If you need additional support beyond these maximum absorbency diapers, there are other products that complement these well for nighttime use. Booster pads can be used to extend the lifetime of an adult diaper, adding additional absorbency on top of an already heavy-duty product. Another item that we recommend looking at are Underpads – these can placed on the bed as a way to catch any incontinence leakage and protect against wet bedding and extra laundry. How Do I Find My Size?

Measuring the widest part of your body between your waist and hip is our recommended method for finding the measurement you need to select your size of overnight diaper. Weight can be used as an additional measurement to verify the size you need; however, we do caution against using only weight if possible. Distribution of weight looks differently across all bodies, making your waist/hip measurement a more accurate representation of the size you will need.

Once you have your product, a good way to check that the fit is right is looking to see if the leg cuffs are closed and against the skin without being too tight and constricting the legs. This will create the seal needed to prevent gaps and leakage. If you are experiencing leaking through the leg holes of an overnight diaper, this may be an indication that you need to try a slightly smaller size.

This sizing information holds true for both tabbed briefs and pull-on products. Pull-ons like Tranquility Premium Overnight Disposable Underwear should fit snuggly like normal underwear, and tabbed briefs like the Tranquility (ATN) All-Through-the-Night Briefs should be fastened tightly closed without constricting the wearer. Both of these products are among the best overnight adult diaper you can buy.

Can I use these during the Day, too?

Yes!

While these products were originally designed for nighttime use, we encourage you to use the products that work best for you whenever you need them.

Do Overnight Adult Diapers Go by Different Names?

Yes! Adult overnight diapers go by many different names. Some refer to them as an adult nighttime diaper, overnight pull ups or just an adult diaper. What’s most important is that you understand whether the products you are considering are like regular underwear that you pull onto your body, or they are tab style briefs (also called a disposable brief) that wraps around your body and closes with tape or hook-and-loop near your hips. Either protective underwear or disposable briefs work, as long as they give the daytime and overnight protection you need.

There are so many types of adult diapers on the market, that it can be hard to know which is the best fit for you. Each diaper contains a variety of features as well as pros and cons. For example, nighttime incontinence underwear tends to offer premium absorbency and extra protection for longer wear-time; however, it may be a bit too bulky and provide too much protection if you only need a product to absorb small drips and dribbles during the day.

There are many factors that one should consider when choosing overnight briefs, including budget, body type, severity of incontinence, lifestyle, existing medical conditions and other personal preferences.

Understanding Your Needs

Your needs are specific to you. The severity of your incontinence is one of the biggest factors that will affect which incontinence product is the best for you. For heavy incontinence, a snug fit and extra absorbency is critical to avoiding urine leakage. On the contrary, individuals with light incontinence may prefer a less absorbent garment that fits more discreetly under their clothing.

It’s also important to consider any medical conditions you may have, such as sensitive skin or latex allergies. In these cases, latex-free adult diapers or protective underwear with breathable materials may be a better option. By understanding your unique needs, you can choose products that provide the best protection and comfort for a better night’s sleep.

Additional considerations include comfort and style of the brief. Tranquility offers tape-tab style briefs and pull-on absorbent underwear. Each of these garment styles offers its own pros and cons, dependent on personal needs and preferences.

Adult diapers with higher absorbency are best for managing incontinence as they can hold more liquid, leading to fewer diaper changes, and ultimately cost-savings.
